The Management and Staff of ABii National Savings and Loans Limited have visited and donated an amount of GHC 2,000 to the Lighthouse Christian Orphanage Home in Aburi, Eastern Region.

The visit and donation was part of ABii National Savings and Loans’ programmes to give back to society and to mark the commencement of a good year.

The gesture was primarily geared towards the fulfillment of ABii National’s corporate social responsibility drive on the theme “Health for All and True Care for the Needy”.

Mr Ashie Bennet, the Head of Corporate Affairs at ABii National, presenting the cash donation said the funds were from special voluntary offertory by Management and Staff members from all the 11 branches across the country, including their Head Office in Accra.

He said that the enthusiasm and willingness to give to this noble course was influenced by the fact that the company was founded on practical Christian principles, which teaches us that “there is more blessing in giving than in receiving”.

Mr Ashie encouraged the children to be submissive and obedient to the good principles and values imparted upon them by the ‘mothers’ in the home.

He also urged them to remain faithful to the Lord in everything they do.

Mr Ashie therefore, encouraged other corporate bodies, groups and other well-meaning Ghanaians to come to the aid of children in such orphanages and homes across the country to make their dreams a reality.

Pastor Gloria Kwarteng, the Administrator of the Orphanage, receiving the donation said, commended the ABii National for their consistent and sustained support for the orphanage over the years.

She remarked that there were over 20 children in the orphanage and they still seek to admit more of such children who are less privileged.

She said that the initiative of benevolence taken by ABii National would help them achieve some of the goals they have set concerning the upkeep of the home for this year.
