Apostle Peter Nkrumah Adasah, the Acting Apostle of the World Preachers of Christ Mission, has called on religious leaders to obey the commandments as they ask members to do likewise.

He said nothing could be more important towards the growth of today?s church than for religious leaders to be faithful doers of the word of God in every aspect of their lives.

Apostle Adasah made the call at a three-day leadership capacity training for members, as part of a seven-day National Executive Committee meeting of the Mission at Alajo, at the weekend.

The church also held three days of fasting and prayers.

The Acting Apostle urged religious leaders to practice what they preach.

?Let us agree with Paul in the Bible when he said that I harden my body with blows and bring it under complete control, to keep myself from being disqualified after having called others to the contest?

He said leaders should be good character witnesses and ambassadors of Christ, and be doers of the word and not hearers only tom deceive themselves.

Apostle Adasah urged Christians not to use Easter for merry-making alone, but reminded them that it calls for sober reflections to get the understanding of why Jesus went through the pains and eventually died for the sins of mankind.

He said when the people understand the significance of the death of Jesus Christ they would not continue in their sins, but rather give their whole lives to God for salvation.

Speaking on ?Leadership Qualities?, Pastor Sampson Agyenim Boateng also of the Mission, said a leader should have character traits such as vision, analysis, integrity, dedication, magnanimity, humility, openness, creativity, fairness, assertiveness and a sense of humour.

He said when such traits are nurtured well in leaders, success will be achieved in families, organisations and religious bodies.

Pastor Agyenim Boateng urged leaders to follow the example of Jesus Christ and surround themselves with Godly people who would give good advice so that they would not make mistakes.

?A leader should have communion with the Almighty God always and pray without ceasing,? he said. GNA
