“Do not use your position to acquire wealth at the expense of the poor,” he said during a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of an accident/emergency unit for the Half-Assini Government Hospital in the Jomoro District of the Western Region.

The project, facilitated by the former Minister, includes the construction of a wall around the hospital and is being funded by Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).


It is estimated to cost Ghc1.53 million and expected to be completed in nine months.

Mr Ocran expressed satisfaction by the transformation of the hospital by the Government assisted by the GNPC.

Mr Ocran, who hails from Nawuley near Tikobo Number One, had been honoured by the chief and people of the town for his achievements towards socio-economic development.

These include the tarring of roads, provision of pipe borne water, electrification project and distribution of computers and laptops to the Nawuley and Ehoaka Basic schools.

The ceremony was attended by some assembly members, traditional rulers, and heads of departments.
