Ghana forward Kwesi Appiah netted his first goal for Reading in their handsome 3-0 win over Derby County in the English Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old Black Stars striker raced the visitors into the lead at the iPro Stadium with clinical 2nd minute finish.

The Crystal Palace loanee latched onto a loose pass in midfield, burst through on goal and slotted beyond Lee Grant ? the Derby keeper.

It was a moment of great composure from Appiah who cut inside of Raul Albentosa before turning home with his left foot for his first goal of the season.

Derby had a golden chance to restore parity before the break but Darren Bent saw his penalty kick saved by Federici Adam.

While Appiah was a enjoying a good game, English-born Ghanaian Tarique Fosu came off the bench in the 30th minute to replace Jack Stacey for his second game of the season.

Appiah was starting his second game for Steve Clarke?s side since joining them in March from Palace and he made his presence count in the early minute of the game.

After scoring the opener, Appiah offered golden opportunities to Jack Stacey but his finishing let him down on a couple of occasions.

Jem Karacan and Michael Hector netted the other two goals for Reading.
