Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah has attributed his team?s lousy first half performance against Malawi on Saturday to tactical indiscipline on the part of some of his players.

The Stars got off to a false start in their 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Flames at the Accra Sports Stadium, and Appiah tells GNA Sports ?it was due to tactical indiscipline? for the output which saw the Malawians control the midfield.

The Stars trainer admits his team was lucky not to have conceded a goal during the opening session dominated by the visitors.

?They (Malawi) could have even scored a goal,? Appiah admitted.

The soft-spoken coach reiterated that he had cautioned his charges on the potentials of the Flames.

?I made them aware that they are a good threat if we allow them to play their game.?

However, he lauded his players for the high level of professionalism which saw their turnaround.

?The players are professionals and when the need arises, they will deliver.?

Appiah concluded that he expects an improved performance from his charges in the second leg scheduled for the weekend of October 12-14 in Blantyre.
