Emmanuel Botchwey popularly called ‘Kwaw Kese’ is set to have a feast with thousand patients at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital in the Greater Accra region as part of his February 14, 2017 valentine’s day celebration.
This is in connection with his “Kwaw Kese Foundation’, aimed at giving back to society.
Speaking with Nana Hemaa on Abusua FM’s Abusua Mmre, he promised to donate items worth millions of Ghana cedis to the patients as well.
‘Yes we are going to feed thousand patients with sumptuous meal at Pantang amidst singing and dancing. Two years ago, we had a similar feast with the Kumasi Prisons inmates. We later donated some items to the labour ward of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). Today with the support of family, my wife and new born baby, we are on our way to Pantang,’ he said.
Last year, we went to the Nsawam prisons to do same for 4,000 inmates,’ he explained.
The ‘Abodam’ crooner said its always his passion to donate to the needy especially those who have been neglected by society.
‘It appears the patients at the Pantang psychiatric hospital have been rejected and stigmatisation is also on the increase, people do not want to get closer to them to show them love. Almost all philanthropists donate to children homes and the aged. Hardly do you hear people go there to check on the mentally deranged to show them love. I have vowed to show them love,’ he said.
‘Kwaw kese’ appealed to churches, philanthropists and individuals to support him paint the Pantang hospital which has been faded off.
He called on the public to disregard rumours that he has grudges with the ‘confession’ hit maker Kofi Kinaata hinting that he will soon release a song featuring him.
