Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah says coach Kwesi Appiah has the right credentials to achieve success with the Black Stars despite a shaky start to the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The ex-international took permanent charge of the squad two months ago following the departure of Serbian coach Goran Stevanovic who was sacked.

Under Appiah, the Black Stars won their opening game 7-0 against Lesotho before losing 1-0 to Zambia in Ndola last month.

Despite the setback, Asamoah revealed that the players are happy with the coach in charge and he is confident Appiah will be successful in his tenure as the Black Stars coach.

?Of course he can do the job, he has the experience as a player and we respect him as a coach because he has been with us for a long time,? Asamoah said.

?It?s not that he?s a Ghanaian or he is white. We know him and we are happy with him.?
