Dr. Kwabena Donkor has been approved by Parliament to become the Minister for the newly created Ministry, Ministry of Power.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor was vetted by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday December 15, 2014.
Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho announced his approval in the House today and reminded Dr. Donkor that ?so much is expected? of him as the Power sector minister.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament Barton Oduro, he noted that the Committee was satisfied that nominee [Dr. Kwabena Donkor] and is suitable to be appointed as nominated.

The President, John Mahama created the new Power Ministry a few weeks ago in the face of daunting challenges in the power sector and mounting criticisms of government’s handling of the crises.

During his vetting, Dr. Donkor promised to pursue an aggressive policy of investment in the power sector.
