The Porcupine Warriors, have been struggling in the ongoing Ghana Premier League after match day six, with five points at the bottom of the table.


In the wake of recent misunderstandings between the club’s management, board and their coach David Duncan, the life patron of the team, His Royal Highness Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, decided to step in to find lasting solutions to the recurring problems.

The Asantehene paid a surprise visit to the team’s training grounds yesterday, where he said he was not happy with club’s current situation.

“I was reading the newspapers and checking on the league table and found that, my team is at the bottom of the league table,” Otumfuo said.

“I was stunned and panicked when I saw the position of the club, so I had to come here unannounced. I love this team more than anyone can imagine and I want all the problems solved immediately.”

He stated that, he was happy the players do not have any serious concerns and hope that they improve on their recent performance.

He urged the team to win against an inform Liberty side at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday after which he would pay for a brand new bus to replace the old bus.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, however noted that he would meet with all who matter to address the club’s current blemished state.

Liberty Professionals thumped defending league champions Ashgold 5-1 in their last league match and are currently occupying the ninth position on the table, whereas Kotoko lost their last game against Aduana by a goal to nil.
