The declaration, comes as a joint decision, which was the result of a stake holders meeting, that specifically addressed encroachment on airports lands.

Held on November 27th, 2014, the meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Tony Lithur, Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Ltd (GACL) and Alhaji Salifu Osman, Deputy National Security Coordinator.

It was attended by a number of organizations namely the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority(GCAA), the National Security, Town and Country Planning, the Electricity Company of Ghana, the Ministry of Local Government, the Lands commission, among others.

People who would like to seek clarification on the declaration, are advised to contact the Lands Commission.

The issue of encroachment on airports lands, has been a long standing one, with encroachers always ignoring warnings to halt their activities.
