Germany-based midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has hailed the Black Stars 6-1 thrashing of Egypt in the World Cup playoff as an amazing performance despite not being part of the team that whitewashed the Pharaohs.

The Schalke midfielder congratulated his Black Stars team-mates for the victory in Kumasi that has all but sealed the Black Stars place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Boateng talented player was part of the squad called up by coach but he courted controversy after he pulled out injured of Schalke?s match just two days before he arrives in Accra for camping for the match in Kumasi.

His absence for the match sparked suspicion in certain quarters that he feigned injury to avoid the match but that claim was vehemently rejected by Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Despite the questions surrounding his loyalty, the midfielder took to social media to congratulate the Black Stars for the virtuoso performance.

?Congrats black stars for the amazing performance? #proud #Brazil2014,? Boateng wrote on tweeted.

Captain Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring for Ghana in the 5th minute and Wael Gomaa?s own goal in the 22nd took Ghana 2-0 up.

Mohamed Aboutrika cut the deficit in half with a 41st-minute penalty kick, but Majeed Waris? goal in the 44th restored Ghana?s 2-goal lead at half-time.

Gyan got his second goal in the 53rd, Sulley Muntari converted a penalty kick in the 72nd and Christian Atsu scored the final goal in the 89th.

Ghana will now travel to Cairo on November 19 for the second leg of the play-offs.

The aggregate winner after the tie will automatically qualify for Brazil 2014.
