Kenyan police said Sunday they have launched investigations after one person was killed and two others seriously injured in a grenade attack at Garbattula region in Isiolo county, northeastern Kenya.

Isiolo Country Police Commander Charles Ontita said a grenade went off at a local market on the Isiolo-Garissa border at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, sparking panic among the residents and shoppers.

Ontita said they have established that one herder had picked the grenade and went with it to a nearby chemist whose owner was injured. Enditem
