Mombasa Senior Principal Magistrate Nicholas Njagi granted police time to investigate Ikrima Shosi over terror related offences in the coastal region.

Ikrima is believed to be behind systematic killings of security agents and suspected State informers in Mombasa.
Ikrima was arrested on Friday at a popular club by detectives who had been trailing him for months.

Mombasa deputy police boss Patrick Njoroge described the suspect as a wanted terrorist who has been sought by police for long.

Ikrima is believed to be behind the murder of Hashim Omar, a senior National Intelligence Service officer in Mombasa in July 2015.

He is brother to Ismail Shosi who also escaped Monday’s raid at house in Majengo where cache of weapons was seized by recce squad officers. They say he wears a buibui to disguise himself.

In sworn affidavit police stated that they are investigating Shosi for being member of terrorist group Al-Shabaab.

“Shosi is believed to be harbouring Al-Shabaab terrorist in his house within Majengo, where he has been organizing explosive attacks within Mombasa targeting to eliminate police officers,” Police investigating officer Peter Munguti told the court.

Munguti stated that security agents needed time to analyze his mobile phones to assist in the investigation. Enditem
