Under-fire Hearts coach Kenichi Yatshuhashi has received a ringing endorsement from the club’s board.

The 46-year-old is under mounting pressure to quit following the side’s unflattering pre-season campaign.

The future of the Japanese trainer has further been heightened by the resignation of the club’s chief Gerald Ankrah – the man who brought him to the club.

But club spokesman Kwame Opare Addo has claimed the under-fire tactician has received the backing of the board.

“I am sure if the board didn’t have confidence in him he would have been sacked by now so once he is still in charge, running the affairs of the team, going to training and ensuring that the team gets better it means that we have confidence in him.”

“We have given him the strong backing, management has also given him their backing and we are calling on all supporters to give him strong backing because we know where we are now, the direction we are heading, he is the right man at this moment.”
