TEHRAN — Representatives from Iran and world powers began a new round of nuclear talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna on Thursday with the aim of preparing a preliminary draft for a possible nuclear deal by June 30.

TRIPOLI — Libya’s security forces on Thursday arrested 441 African nationals planning to illegally immigrate to Europe, according to Tripoli security sources.
Murad Hamza, spokesman for Tripoli’s central security force, said that their fighters were informed by local citizens on the whereabouts of potential illegal immigrants in the city and arrested them. (Libya-Immigration-Arrest)

ANKARA — Around 1000 Syrian refugees crossed into Turkey Thursday fleeing clashes between Kurdish fighters and Islamic State (IS) militants in Tel Abyad of Syria, private Dogan News Agency reported.
The Syrian refugees waited for a couple of days on the Syrian side of the border until Turkish authorities allowed them to cross the Akcakale border of southern Sanliurfa province through a secure corridor, said the report. (Turkey-Syrian-Refugees)

CAIRO — Egypt’s Court of Cassation, the country’s highest legal authority, on Thursday ordered a retrial of former President Hosni Mubarak over the killing of protesters in 2011, state-run MENA news agency reported.
The retrial, the second for Mubarak over the protester killing case, was scheduled for Nov. 5, and the rulings will be final and cannot be further appealed. (Egypt-Mubarak-Retrial) Enditem
