KATHMANDU — A private helicopter crashed in Balephi of quake- hit Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal on Tuesday, killing at least four people.
Nepal Police spokesperson Kamal Singh Bom and Mountain Helicopters Nepal, the operator of the helicopter, confirmed the crash of the helicopter in the area of Yamuna Dada, Balephi, some 75 kilometers away from the country’s capital.
“Captain Subek Shrestha was in the helicopter 9N AJP,” Basanta Kumar Bhandari, an official with the Mountain Helicopters, confirmed to Xinhua over phone. (Nepal-Helicopter Crash)

KATHMANDU — The United Nations said on Tuesday that approximately 2.8 million Nepalese people affected by the April 25 earthquake and aftershocks are in need of humanitarian assistance.

Of those affected, 864,000 people, who live in remote, mountainous areas, need urgent assistance, as they lost their homes and livelihoods, the UN office in Kathmandu said. “However, funding for the relief intervention remains insufficient,” the UN said.
Jamie McGoldrick, Humanitarian Coordinator in Nepal, has said that the UN’s priority is to provide vulnerable people of Nepal with the basics to ensure their survival through the monsoon. ( Nepal-Quake-Aid)

BANGKOK — Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has set the first hearing of the impeachment case against 248 former members of parliament (MPs) on June 26, NLA president Pornpetch Wichitcholchai said Tuesday.
The impeachment motion was filed by the National Anti- Corruption Commission (NACC) against the MPs for their role in passing a charter amendment to change the composition of the Senate in September 2013.
