MANAMA — Bahraini authorities announced on Saturday that they had foiled a terror operation with links to Iran involving attempts to smuggle high-grade explosives, automatic weapons and ammunition into the country via sea.
The Interior Ministry said a joint counter-terrorism operation was conducted on Saturday involving the Bahraini Coast Guard, Police Aviation Unit and Bahraini Royal Naval Force, as they intercepted a vessel heading towards Bahrain after meeting another vessel just outside of Bahrain’s territorial waters. ISLAMABAD — At least 43 people were killed, hundreds of others injured and tens of thousands displaced in flooding and rain-related accidents in Pakistan’s Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, local media and officials said Saturday.

YAOUNDE — At least 12 people were killed and many others injured in a suicide bomb blast in Maroua, capital of Cameroon’s Far North Region Saturday night.
A woman detonated a bomb attached to her belt around 07:40 p.m. local time (1840 GMT) in a bar. It was only three days ago that double suicide bomb blasts took place in Maroua’s central market, killing at least 20 people. (Cameroon-Suicide Bomb) Enditem
