PHNOM PENH — The National Assembly of Cambodia on Monday adopted a draft law on Associations and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) despite a boycott from the opposition lawmakers and protests.
All 68 lawmakers from the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), including Prime Minister Hun Sen, approved the bill by raising hands, as the 55 lawmakers from the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) boycotted the session. (Cambodia-NGO Bill)

JAKARTA — A senior official at Indonesia’s disaster mitigation agency of BNPB said on Monday that contingency plans have been set to anticipate the worse from eruption of Raung volcano in East Java that has bern ensuing in the last two weeks.

COLOMBO — More than 60 political parties and over 100 independent groups who are contesting Sri Lanka’s parliamentary elections next month handed over their nomination papers to the elections department on Monday as the accepting of nominations came to an end.
