Military authorities say a plot to hit the 21 Armoured Brigade has been uncovered

The Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order, on Wednesday, said that it had uncovered plans by the Boko Haram group to attack military barracks in Maiduguri, Borno State.

In a statement, JTF spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, said: ?Information available to the JTF indicate clandestine plans by suspected Boko Haram terrorists group to attack military barracks in Maiduguri.

The attack is particularly targeted at the headquarters of the 21 Armoured Brigade, Maiduguri. The JTF wishes to warn the group that such exercise will be disastrous and counter-productive. It will jeopardise the security of members of the group in military custody,” he said.

Musa urged residents of military barracks and host communities, particularly those bordering Giwa Barracks, to be on alert.

He advised them to alert the JTF on any strange movements around them for necessary action.
