Ghana striker Jordan Ayew is delighted to have finally broken his barren run at Sochaux as he joins the Black Stars camp for Wednesday?s friendly against Montenegro.

The 22-year-old dropped to the bench having started all seven games since arriving on loan from Olympique Marseille in January.

Ayew was brought on in the 68th minute in what turned out to be an inspired change by coach Herve Renard as the Ghanaian striker latched onto a ball played-in-behind the Bordeaux defence to slot home the opener in the 2-0 win over Bordeaux on Saturday night.

The Ghana international has come under intense pressure recently for his goal scoring drought since arriving to Sochaux in January.

The youngest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele is now very happy his consistent efforts in training finally paid off with just his first touch of the game.

?I am rewarded for my efforts,? he said after the game.

?The coach made ??a choice [about starting on the bench], I go and I scored my first ball [first touch].?

Ayew?s return to scoring form comes in a knick of time as doubts hover over his form going with some few months to the 2014 World Cup.

The 22-year-old however gets a timely boost to temporarily sign off his club duties as he joins the Ghana national team for the friendly against Montenegro on Wednesday.
