Goodluck Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has declared that the talk of the possibility of Nigeria having an Interim National Government (ING) should be regarded as a treasonable offence.

The President said this yesterday at the first 2015 plenary session of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), in Abuja.

It would be recalled that there have been suggestions lately of the possibility of ING being put in place by the government of Jonathan rather of holding elections.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) also said last week that ING was alien to the nation?s constitution.

The President also told the Catholic Bishops that interim government is not known to the Nigerian constitution.

Said he, ?Interim government is not known to the Nigerian constitution.

?There is no way Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, elected by people with clear mandate, will now go and head interim government.?
