Boost For Ghana As Jonathan Mensah Steps Up Recovery Ahead Of Egypt Return Clash

Jonathan Mensah has stepped up on his rehabilitation from injury to hand Ghana a massive boost ahead of next month?s return encounter in the World Cup playoffs against Egypt.

The 23-year-old missed the first leg clash after suffering an injury on the weekend to the lead up to the game in Kumasi while with his French club Evian TG.

The central defender is expected to be out for six weeks with a thigh problem.

The Ghana international has however made tremendous progress in his recovery and has already started working with the ball.

This has increased hopes of Mensah?s return for the return leg of the World Cup playoffs next month at a yet to be confirmed venue.

The Black Stars are taking a commanding 6-1 lead into the second leg match after making mincemeat of the Pharaohs last Tuesday.

His return will be a major boost to the Ghana defence which currently stands depleted over injuries to key players.
