John Travolta has spoken up against HBO?s documentary ?Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief which discredited the church with testimonies from ex-Scientologists. In an interview with Tampa Bay Times, the actor says he hasn?t seen the doc and he doesn?t ?really care to.?

Responding to critics who called for Travolta and Tom Cruise to speak against the church, the ?Grease? star says, ?I haven?t experienced anything that the hearsay has (claimed), so why would I communicate something that wasn?t true for me? It wouldn?t make sense, nor would it for Tom, I imagine.?

While he called ?Going Clear? a product of ?people who were disgruntled with their experiences? with Scientology, his experience with the church ?has been nothing but brilliant? so far. He adds, ?I?ve been so happy with my (Scientology) experience in the last 40 years that I really don?t have anything to say that would shed light on (a documentary) so decidedly negative.?

The 61-year-old actor even credits the church for helping him get through difficult times in his life, including his son Jett?s death in 2009. ?I?ve been brought through storms that were insurmountable, and (Scientology has) been so beautiful for me, that I can?t even imagine attacking it,? he says.

The ?Pulp Fiction? star additionally claims that he?s used Scientology to help others in crisis. ?I?ve helped so many people through hard times,? he says. ?Loss of children, loved ones, physical illnesses. Through many tough, tough life situations I?ve used the technology to support them and help them. It?s always worked. So, why would I even approach a negative perspective? That would be a crime to me, personally, to do that.?
