Ex-Fulham defender John Pantsil is confident his compatriot Derek Boateng will make a huge impact at the English Premier League side after signing a deal to join the club for the upcoming season.

Boateng joined the Cottagers last month after sealing a two-year contract on a free transfer after coach Martin Jol persisted to clinch his man.

The hard-tackling midfielder fell out with his Ukrainian side Dnipro before taking them to FIFA to secure his release.

Pantsil, who played with  Boateng for their country for over ten years, made 75 appearances for Fulham during his three-year stay at Craven Cottage.

The right-back who cut a cult figure status at Fulham is confident the experienced midfielder has made the right decision to play for the Cottagers.

?It is a great move and Fulham is a good team and especially when an African player moves there, they really take good care of the player,? said Pantsil.

?There he will get much playing time which will help him and the national team, with the exposure and experience he will succeed.

?His move there is good for Ghana, for himself and friends and I believe he will make a positive impact there.?

Boateng agreed one-year deal with the East London side with an option for a further year.
