The Saint Peter’s Cathedral Basilica of the Roman Catholic Church in Kumasi, last Sunday, celebrated the life of the late John Rachid Bitar, Founder and Chairman of John Bitar Group of Companies.

Officiating were Rev. Fr. Louis Cecilia Adu-Poku, Rev. Fr. Michael Kwaku Boateng and Rev, Fr. Isaac Boakye.

The officiating Minister, Rev. Msgr. Raphael Owusu Peprah, entreated Bitar’s surviving relations to selflessly handle the companies he left behind in honesty.

The Omanhene of the Essikado Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketiah, who was represented by Nana Nanabanyin Ninsin-Imbeah, ex-Nifahene of the Mfansteman Council in the Ashanti Region, expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, and called on workers of the John Bitar Group of Companies to keep the flame lit by the founder burning in his memory.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, was represented by the Bantamahene, Baffour Asare Owusu Amankwatia V.

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included Dr. Mrs. Doris Hayfron Benjamin, retired Ashanti Regional Director of Ghana Health Services, Mr. John Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, Lawyer Supi Bentsil Enchill, and Dr. Abu Sakara of the CPP among others.
