JGC Vehicle Assembly Plant

The Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) a subsidiary of Zoomlion Ghana has opened a new ultra-modern vehicle Assembly Plant in Ghana with the aim of producing reliable and durable vehicle and trucks suitable for transportation, waste management and construction sectors of the country.

Speaking at the launching ceremony in Accra, the Deputy Minister for Environment Science and Technology, Hon. Dr Mustapha Ahmed stated that the construction of the Assembly Plant would go a long way to help in creating employment, in transferring technology to indigenous Ghanaian entrepreneurs and also serve as an avenue for wealth creation in fighting poverty.

He intimated that government will continue to support enterprises that support its Better Ghana Agenda in promoting the development of science, technology and innovation.

On his part, the General Manager of Jospong Group of Companies, Gudivada Bhadrarao noted that the Assembly Plant currently produces three trucks each day, but hopes to expand to ten trucks a day.

Mr. Bhadrarao averred that Jospong has agreed to bring experts from China to train over 400 mechanics across the country to man the trucks.

He pointed out that, soon, the company will establish industry that will manufacture vehicle parts to enable efficient and cost effective way of managing the trucks.

Also, the Chief operating Officer of Jospong Group of Companies, Mr. E A Boateng noted that the company was interested in training the youth and open doors for polytechnic students for practical attachment. He also said, the youth who will be train will help the company in supporting the sector.

Mr. Wang of the Dongfen Motors in China, partners to Jospong also added his voice and said, they are ready to provide reliable transport system in the country.

According to Mr. Wang, Dongfen will continue to strengthen its ties with industry players in Ghana in making sure that after sales services are always provided.
