The match was the first game in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League and the first ever competitive game to be played under the Japenesse coach, hence the support was in honour and support of the Japenesse-American coach of Accra Hearts of Oak.

wpid-kenichi.jpegClad in the colours of Accra Hearts of Oak, the Japnesse, cheered and supported Hearts throughout the game and were in joyous mood when Hearts recorded a lone goal victory over New Edubiase, courtesy Samuel Yeboah’s 77th goal.

Speaking to a member of the Japanese community at the stadium, he said they were happy with the results and their country man Kenichi.

He stated that, they will always fill the stands to support Hearts and their fellow country adding that, they were confident in him.

When asked about why they were in Hearts jerseys, he told GNA sports that the only team they support in Ghana now is Hearts Of Oak and so they were showing their support.

Kenichi’s next Premier league game will be away to Medeama at the TNA park. Hearts of Oak now lie 5th on the league log with three points after match day one.
