It was a spectacular show when twenty (20) beautiful and intelligent ladies converged at the plush Troxy in London, on Saturday 28th?September 2013, for the grand finals of Miss Ghana UK 2013.


At the end of the exciting show, Miss Janet Naa Othobia Afia Djan, a twenty-one (21) year old Media and Cultural Studies graduate won the coveted crown, Miss Ghana UK 2013.


The event started with a colourful cultural display ? Adowa and Borborbo sets by all twenty contestants which ended with a well choreographed group dance, setting the tone for a highly competitive show.


The MCs for the event, Miss Yvonne Akwetey and Mr. Andrew ?Simply Andy Sarfo? Apraku introduced the judges and invited the contestants back onto the stage to begin what would be four rounds of cutthroat competition.


Ghanaian afro-pop group, Ruff n Smooth, were the headline artistes and managed to get the crowd going with them as they performed back to back several of their hit tracks ? Swagger, Naija Baby, Mather and Sex Machine.


Other supporting artistes who got the crowd dancing were the MOBO award winning British artiste, Rachel Kerr and the Wengeze and Scream hit maker, Eazzy Baby who were all fantastic on stage.


Ghanaian musicians – Stonebwoy, Tiffany and Chemphe were on hand to support the event as well as the 4Syte Media Group.


After the Talent Show, Swim Wear and Evening Wear segments, five contestants qualified for the final round and had the make-or-break question ?Why should you be crowned Miss Ghana UK 2013? between them and the crown.


Miss Janet Naa Othobia Afia Djan won the ultimate prize and becomes the face of the Miss Ghana Foundation for the next twelve months and an anti sickle cell ambassador. She will be travelling to Ghana to undertake activities under the auspices of the Miss Ghana UK Foundation.
