CAPE TOWN — Eleven people have died as a result of heat stroke in South Africa, authorities said on Sunday.
All the deaths were reported in the North West Province, the provincial health department said.

NEW DELHI — Three children were charred to death in a major fire that broke out in a slum in the Indian capital late Saturday night.

ANKARA — A Turkish police officer was killed and two others wounded during an anti-terror operation against the the outlawed Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) in eastern Van province on early Sunday, where 12 PKK rebels were killed, local Sabah Daily reported.

The Turkish police launched an operation upon finding out that the PKK members broke into a house across Van-Edremit highway, according to the report. (Turkey-PKK) Enditem
