Newly elected Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) president Ben Nunoo Mensah says he is ready to work with everybody in order to push the sports in the country forward.
Mensah unseated the incumbent president Professor Francis Dodoo, after polling 33 votes as against the latter’s 28 votes in an elective congress on Wednesday at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
“In every elections factions are bound to happened, after the elections that is it. I’m have clearly stated that is something i’m going to insist on,” Mensah said after he was declared the winner.
‘I’m a very good team player i like to bring on board people. I don’t want factions, Ghana sports belongs to all of us and we have to make it better not me alone.
‘The media has a role to play, corporate Ghana have a role to play, the government, everybody in the country have a role to play. Everybody will be happy to see that sports is moving forward and i believe with kind of approach we will make a strive.”
He expressed that the victory is for the whole of Ghana to enjoy as democracy, transparency and accountability is coming into sports to make sports leaders to be responsible
