The International Trade Centre (ITC) will facilitate participation for coffee exporters from ten developing nations at the World of Coffee Geneva 2025 trade show, marking the event’s inaugural Swiss edition.
Producers from Burundi, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, and Laos will engage with international buyers at Palexpo from June 26-28.
Ahead of the main exhibition, ITC will host policy discussions on June 24 at its Geneva headquarters. The forum will address export frameworks, market access, and sustainable growth strategies for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the coffee sector.
During the trade show, ITC’s Booth 1359 will feature curated tastings and networking opportunities with supported producers. Dedicated tasting sessions for Ugandan, Rwandan, Kenyan, Tanzanian, and Burundian coffees will occur in the official cupping rooms across the three-day event.
Participating exporters receive support through multiple ITC initiatives:
- The EU-funded MARKUP II program assists 40 East African companies
- The ACP Business-Friendly program supports 15 producers from African, Caribbean and Pacific states
- Netherlands Trust Fund V and UK Trade Partnerships programs back Ethiopian, Ghanaian, Senegalese, Laotian, and Papua New Guinean enterprises
“These platforms enable smallholders to establish direct market connections and gain critical industry insights,” stated an ITC representative. The event represents Europe’s largest specialty coffee gathering, providing access to international buyers for producers from developing economies.
