Provocative Right Wing March Descends Into Violence

In their latest desecration assault, dozens of extremist Israeli settlers have?stormed into the holy al-Aqsa Mosque Compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem), Press TV reports.

Israeli settlers on Monday forced their way into the al-Aqsa Mosque?Compound through the al-Magharbeh Gate under tight protection of Israeli police.

Angry Palestinian worshipers present in the mosque?s yard tried to force the settlers out.

Israeli forces arrested a?number of Palestinians including five women on charges of violating ?public safety?, and ?public right to reach holy sites.?

Israel continues to restrict the movement of Palestinian worshipers to the al-Aqsa Mosque, confiscating the identity card of Palestinian women and youth before allowing them into the compound. Israeli settlers are allowed free access to the mosque.

The latest attack comes less than two weeks after a group of settlers along with Israeli forces stormed the holy site to take pictures inside the mosque compound.

Israel has tried to change the demographic makeup of al-Quds over the past decades by constructing illegal settlements, destroying historical sites and expelling the local Palestinian population.

The al-Aqsa Mosque compound, located in the Israeli-occupied Old City of al-Quds, is a flashpoint Islamic site, also holy to the Jews.?The mosque is Islam?s third holiest site after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina.
