Supreme Court

The Supreme Court presided over by Justice Akamba has dismissed a motion filed by former Zebilla MP John Ndebugre seeking to restrain the Energy Minister from laying a new petroleum agreement before Parliament.

Mr. Ndebugre had applied for an interlocutory injunction to restrain Parliament from approving the agreement between the Government of Ghana and AGM Petroleum.

Mr. Ndebugre was represented in court today by Thadeus Sory while the state was represented by Chief State Attorney, Grace Oppong.

Mr. Ndebugre had described the new agreement as contemptuous of the Supreme Court. He had earlier filed a writ to invoke the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court to clarify the annulment of an earlier agreement between the Government of Ghana and Aker ASA.
