The 2016 flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has said he will not disappoint Ghanaians if given the nod to become president in the 7 December election.

Speaking at the final rally of the NPP at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra on Sunday, 4 December, Mr Akufo- Addo told the gathering to vote massively for him to bring economic prosperity to all Ghanaians.

“I’m not going to disappoint the people of Ghana and turn my back on them. We are coming to work for the progress of our nation so we can lift our people up and build a new Ghanaian civilisation that is going to be the light of Africa and the wonder of the world. That is the task that is set for us to do, to liberate our nation from poverty, backwardness and disease and move it into the realms of progress and prosperity,” the NPP flag bearer said.

Mr Akufo-Addo said his government, if elected will fix the National Health Insurance Scheme, restore nurse trainee allowances, introduce free Senior High School and restore teacher trainee allowances.

“I’m coming to restore the adult education programme, $1million per constituency, one-district-one factory, I won’t lie to Ghanaians about my ability to fulfill my promises,” he added.

He advised the electorate to reject the governing National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) propaganda and vote for change.
