?Urges fervent prayers and maximum cooperation

The Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has felicitated with Cardinal John Onaiyekan as the Apostolic Administrator of Catholic Diocese of Ahiara, Mbaise in Imo State.

A statement issued by the media assistant to the Deputy Speaker, Mr Chibuike Onyeukwu described the appointment by the Holy See as timely and responsive considering the crisis that engulfed the Diocese and indeed church since the appointment of Bishop Peter Okpalaeke as Bishop of the Diocese.

While welcoming Cardinal Onaiyekan whom he described as a symbol of peace, godliness and an ambassador of God to Mbaise, Sir Ihedioha urged the Religious and the Laity to accord him maximum support and cooperation through fervent prayers, advice and sincere support to enable him restore peace, order and indeed administer the Diocese to the Glory of God.

He maintained that the Church of God is a very important institution in our society as it mirrors the individuals and society in general as the Body of Christ and therefore should be treated as sacred devoid of undue politicking.
