Johannesburg hosted Africa’s leading trade fair for water, waste, and recycling solutions from July 8–10, 2025, drawing 7,768 industry professionals from over 20 countries to the Gallagher Convention Centre. Co-located with analytica Lab Africa, the event featured 178 exhibitors and international pavilions from China, Germany, and Austria, spotlighting technologies for sustainable infrastructure amid rising urbanization pressures.
High-level government officials, diplomats, and industry leaders inaugurated the event, including German Water Partnership CEO Boris Greifeneder, Water Institute of Southern Africa CEO Dr. Lester Goldman, and representatives from Bavarian economic ministries. A Bavarian delegation facilitated key policy dialogues, notably between Bavarian State Secretary and South African environmental ministers. Cross-sector collaboration dominated discussions, with 200+ experts addressing circular economy frameworks, water financing, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
Technology and Collaboration Focus
Exhibitors showcased innovations from robotic recycling systems to AI-driven water management platforms, emphasizing cost-effective localization. German engineering firm Hermann Sewerin highlighted partnerships securing water assets, while FAUN Group noted Africa’s “accelerating demand” for circular waste solutions. The Industrial Development Corporation’s Thabo Kabini observed: “The convergence of global players underscored opportunities for cross-border collaboration in addressing environmental crises.”

The next edition is scheduled for July 2027 in Johannesburg.
