wpid-0605NSenator-Bala-Mohammed0.jpgThe FCT Administration under the supervision of the current FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has been very effective in the fight against corruption and land racketeering.

Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Mr. Ekpo Uno Owo Nta stated this while delivering a lecture titled ?Fighting Corruption in Nigeria ? Challenges and Achievements? as a Facilitator during the just concluded 2nd Nigerians In Diaspora Organization (NIDO Germany) at Leonardo Hotel, Hamburg, Germany.

The Chairman remarked that his Commission undertook a study of land related fraud in the Federal Capital Territory and turned up the said study and recommendations to the FCT Administration, which was judiciously used and implemented by Senator Bala Mohammed?s Administration.

According to him, ?there is massive reduction of fraudulent land practices in the Federal Capital Territory as a result of the Honourable Minister?s pro-activeness based on the ICPC studies and results?.

Mr. Nta reiterated that the Commission, which is a premier anti-corruption institution in Nigeria, has embarked on such studies and turn up findings to the affected government agencies /organizations.

The Chairman restated that the FCT Administration under Senator Bala Mohammed are amongst the organizations that have availed themselves of such rare opportunity to deal with corruption in all its ramifications.

He was later called upon by the organizers, NIDO ? Germany to present the ?Leadership Service Award 2014? to the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed.

Also speaking, Mr. Collins Nweke, Municipal Legislator, Ostend City Council, Belgium who was a Facilitator at the occasion called for the Voting Rights for Nigerians in diaspora.

The Nigerian Belgium Legislator emphasized that such Voting Rights for those in diaspora will strengthen and enrich the growth and development of democracy in Nigeria.

The ceremony was also attended by the Nigeria Ambassador to Germany, Counsel General of Nigeria to New York, FCDA Executive Secretary, Coordinator, Abuja Infrastructure & Investment Centre, FCT Director of Economic Planning & Statistics as well as a Nigerian who is the Municipal Legislator; Ostend City Council, Belgium; Director-General, National Oil Spill Detection & Response Agency in Nigeria, to mention but a few.
