The Ashanti regional minister Designate, Hon Simon Osei Mensah has said he would not be intimidated by his own party faithfuls in his line of duties if approved by parliament as the minister of the Golden Kingdom.
According to the former Bosomtwe Legislator, some party faithfuls in the region would obviously be looking for their interest to be championed ahead of the national interest when he becomes the political head of the Ashanti Region.
However, in an interview with the press at his residence here in the Greater Accra, he said irrespective of the political pressure that is likely to be experienced in office, he would be able to draw a clear line to between a distinct party and national interest.
He said becoming a public official means becoming a national asset and its imperative to live up to the expectations of the people with a national interest at heart.
“It would go a long way to bring about a proper developmental agendas among the people of Ashanti Region and Ghana at large” Hon. Osei Mensah concluded.
