Mrs Benita Sena Okity Duah, who won the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ledzokuku Constituency parliamentary primaries on Saturday, pledged to make education a priority if she is voted into parliament in December.

She won with 242 votes against, Nii Nortey Duah, Deputy Minister designate for Water Resource Works and Housing, who had 148 votes and Mr Boye Sikan, who polled 13 votes.

Mrs Duah said: “I work hard to justify the overwhelming confidence imposed in me by the delegates to lead the party in Election 2012” and thanked them for ensuring peaceful polls.

Nii Nortey Duah pledged to work with Mrs Duah to retain the seat for the NDC and Nii Sikan also said “I promise to use my time and energy to support the campaign of .” GNA
