Mr. Houcine Houichi, the WBC representative for Africa and president of the African Boxing Union has commended Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) for maintaining its image and reputation as a representative of a great boxing nation and building the Bukom boxing arena to host international bouts is positive.

In an interview with yours truly at the Bukom boxing arena, he admired the discipline of the fans and boxers on the bill who put up marvelous performances.

He said all the three World Boxing Council WBC International fights were fantastic with good results with none of the losers challenging the verdicts.

He praised the ring officials and prayed that African boxing will move ahead positively alongside the world boxing body.

According to Tunisian Houichi, African Boxing needs to move forward and much depends on the federations who must get people with interest in the development of the sport.

Houichi who presented a special WBC belt to the president of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo said Ghana is blessed with talent who must be managed well to hit international headlines.
Last year, he was re elected president if the African Boxing Union ABU by unanimous vote.
