Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor over the weekend didn?t only put his recent troubles behind him when he scored a dramatic winner for Togo against Liberia in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers; he also brought joy and excitement to the City of Lome as he hosted his SEA Foundation Festival.

The two -day festival kicked off on Saturday, June 13 at the Marcelo Beach with beach soccer, music, fun and games. The festival was then climaxed on Sunday with a huge concert at Stade Municipal De Lome with electrifying performances from Ghana?s Bisa Kdei. Also on the bill were Nigeria?s Wizkid and Lola Rae, Ivory Coast?s Serge Beynaud, and a host of top Togolese artists including Tach Noir, Snaky da Future, NIA,  Almok and Dieudonn? Willa. The event was hosted by popular Togolese comedian, Gogoligo and Gbadamassi.

The festival is all part of SEA Foundation?s initiative to raise awareness for its projects and the work it?s currently doing. Part of the funds raised will go towards projects that SEA Foundation is supporting. The SEA Foundation was set up by the charismatic footballer in 2014 to bring together his various philanthropic endeavours. He has been involved in government initiatives and development projects in Togo for several years, as well as acting as an ambassador for the health and education charity Vision Togo.

The SEA Foundation aims to fund and support youth projects in Togo which have the potential to be used as a blueprint in the rest of Africa. This is Sheyi?s way of giving back. Despite his unprivileged background, he feels like one of the lucky ones: he was picked out from a crowd and his talent was nurtured. And this is not just about football, it is about finding the next generation of entrepreneurs, scientists, politicians and artists. It is about helping young people fulfil their potential wherever their talents lie. The SEA Foundation has been set up to encourage creativity, inspire innovation and help communities build a better future.
