Heroes dance crew was declared champions of season five of the Malta Guinness Street Dance competition last Friday at the National Theatre in Accra.

This followed several hours of ecstatic display of sizzling dance moves among the final four dance crews that threw fans into fever pitch excitement.

Aside winning the cash prize of GH? 15,000, the winning dance crew will bypass the Pan- African and go directly to the international stage. Ghana?s number one street Dance Crew Heroes, will be heading to Bochum Germany in October to fly the flag for Ghana as they compete against the world?s best street dance crew.

This exciting new twist to the show has been made possible by five incredible years of street dance talent being nurtured by the Malta Guinness brand.

Following a nationwide search of Ghana?s best street dancers in June, hundreds auditioned, hundreds supported and hundreds of moves were showcased out of which 18 talented dance crews were selected by celebrity judging panel comprising of Reggie Rockstone, hip life godfather; Beatrice Aurther, the renowned creative designer and K.O.D (Kofi Okyere Darko) a trendy presenter and Talent Manager extraordinaire. These 18 dance crews went through a series of rigorous but exciting competitions and were finally pruned down to top four out of which Heroes emerged Ghana?s number one street dance champions.

This year, fans from the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MaltaGuinessGhana) were also able to vote and root for their favourite dance crew online.

Commenting on the event, the Marketing Director at Guinness Ghana Breweries, Agnes Essah, said, ?We are thrilled for Heroes crew who definitely stunned us with their street dance moves at the National Final.

This year?s National Final was one of our best yet and we are delighted with how the fifth season of Malta Guinness Street Dance has been concluded. We call on all Ghanaians to support Heroes as they represent GH in Germany in October,? she noted.
