Sixty houses including the palace of Nana Ofosuhene II, Akwamuhene of the town, also collapsed.

Nana Dwanena Akenten II, chief of the town, and his sub chiefs joined the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) officials to visit the affected areas to assess the damage rendered by the storm.

He appealed to the assembly, philanthropies and other benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the affected persons.

He urged his people to plant trees around their buildings to serve as windbreaks and also de-silt surrounding gutters and drains around their building.

He assured the affected people that, the information they have gathered will be forwarded to the appropriate quarters for necessary action.
