Accra Hearts of Oak  this afternoon ended their six-week winless run in the Premier league with a 1-0 win over Aduana Stars in their Glo Premier League clash at Dormaa.
heartsjubilateKarim Sadat capitalized on a defensive blunder  in the 27th minute to register the only goal of the game.
And that handed new coach C.K Akunnor his first win since taking over from Serb Nebojsa Vucicevic a fortnight  ago.
Hearts of Oak last won when they clashed with Heart of Lions in the 16th week at Kpando.
Aduana Stars fought tirelessly to redeem the slender lead but goalkeeper Philemon McCathy in post for Hearts of Oak, guarded against the lead to ensure a clean sheet.
Few goal scoring opportunities came the way of both sides after the opener with neither side recording another goal.
Hearts return to Accra to face Wa All Stars, a side they defeated 1-0 in the first round coming Sunday on match day 23.
In Kumasi,  Daniel Nii Adjei’s late equalizer was enough to prevent what would have been Kotoko’s first home defeat in their 1-1 drawn game against New Edubiase.
Current league top scorer Emmanuel Baffoe opened the scoring to increase his tally to 17, when he struck under five minutes  to beat goalkeeper Soulama Abdulai.
Thereafter, Kotoko fought relentlessly to cancel the lead but Edubiase’s goalkeeper Eric Nii Baah   proved equal to the task until in the injury time when a misunderstanding between the goalkeeper and Osmanu Yahaya resulted in the equalizer.
