After the defeat of the ruling NDC, people have called for heads to roll as sceptics have blamed the abysmal performance of the NDC in the just ended general elections which saw the NDC’s candidate President John Dramani Mahama loosing by a nine point margine translating to almost a million votes.

One of such heads people are calling for it to be on the chopper board is that of KOfi Adams. According to NDC activist Afrifa Yamoah Ponko, the National Democratic Congress should be hanged for the defeat suffered by the party and most especially the defeat of incumbent president John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, the circumstances surrounding the party’s defeat is unpardonable, and Mr Adams cannot absolve himself of blame.

President John Mahama and the ruling NDC were defeated in last week’s presidential and parliamentary polls by the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo.

The NPP trashed the ruling party by about one million votes and also won majority of the parliamentary seats.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Abusua FM Tuesday, Mr. Ponko, who was former Ejisu Juabeng MCE , blamed the defeat of the NDC on the incompetence of the campaign team.

“I laughed it off when I heard Kofi Adams saying he should be blamed for our defeat, he should stop irritating our ears; why should he accept the blame, why did he accept to be the National Campaign Coordinator when he knew that he was going to fail us? I mean why, it is an unforgivable sin. Andy Okrah and Kofi Adams need to be hanged for our defeat. They should have humbly rejected the offers when they were appointed. They have no excuse to give”.

Stressing on the severity of the defeat on the party, Mr. Ponko said, “This defeat is a serious blow to us, we are now going to feel the impact of our loss, our supporters are being vilified, killed, beaten everyday by New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, watch the space, the harassment will be worst after the President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is sworn in office,” he lamented.

Meanwhile leaders of the NPP and other bodies such as the National Peace Council and the National Chief Imam have called on supporters of the NPP to exercise restraint as the win of the party must not be marred by the actions of a few people.
