University of Ghana political scientist Professor Ransford Gyampo has cautioned that recent praise for President John Mahama will not prevent investigations into alleged financial irregularities during his administration.

The academic emphasized that constitutional accountability processes must continue regardless of the president’s rehabilitation among former critics.

Speaking on TV3’s The Key Points, Gyampo referenced pending findings from the Office of the Registrar of Assets and Liabilities, stating “the ORAL report will be implemented” irrespective of political sentiment. His comments highlight ongoing tensions between political reconciliation and demands for fiscal accountability in Ghana’s democratic framework.

The remarks come amid growing debate about balancing recognition of leadership achievements with constitutional oversight responsibilities.
