Four persons including a woman and her two children were Thursday night seriously injured while the fourth one thought to be among the attackers was slightly injured at Ruhehe in Kirundo province, police said Friday.

“The grenade was blasted last night around 20:00 inside a house at Ruhehe in Bugabira district in the province of Kirundo. Four persons including a woman and her two children were seriously injured and taken to hospital,” Burundian Police Spokesman Pierre Nkurikiye said.

According to him, the fourth person, who was slightly injured, is thought to be one of the five suspects who were arrested for their alleged involvement in the grenade blast.

This came after a grenade explosion injured four policemen at a police post in Bwiza in the Burundian capital Bujumbura on Tuesday. Enditem
