The government has strengthened the capabilities of the Ghana Police Service with the official handover of 40 modern armoured vehicles. The presentation, held on Thursday, December 4, brought together President John Mahama, ministers of state, and police leadership in a show of support for national security efforts.
Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohunu praised the government for its continuous backing and emphasised that the new vehicles would be put to effective use through careful deployment and proper maintenance.
“Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the government for this remarkable gesture,” he stated. “We are committed to managing these vehicles responsibly and ensuring they contribute meaningfully to our operational goals.”
The ceremony, which also featured Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak and other high-level officers, highlighted the administration’s dedication to equipping security agencies with resources needed to protect the public.
