Ghana government assure Black Stars ahead of 2013 AFCON

The Ghana government has assured the Black Stars of its ?full support? in their quest to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

This was revealed by Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah when he visited in the Black Stars at their training camp in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.

The former deputy sports minister, who has been appointed by government to coordinate the country?s participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, met the players after dinner on Saturday at the team?s hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Omane-Boamah was sent by government to the team?s training camp in Abu Dhabi to assure the players of the country?s support before they depart for the tournament in South Africa.

He was delighted with the team spirit after arriving in the team?s camp on Saturday morning ahead of Sunday?s friendly clash against Tunisia.

?I love the discipline that I have seen. I love the dedication and your commitment to the country and I know the people of Ghana appreciate this,? Dr Omane-Boamah said at the meeting with the the Black Stars players.

?As government we are very very happy with the kind of discipline prevailing in camp. We keep on hearing all the things that are happening in camp.

?We are confident that you have what it takes to end our 31-year title drought that has afflicted our country.?

The team is expected to arrive in South Africa on January 16 ? four clear days ahead of their first game against DR Congo.
