In an audacious declaration, Governor Rabiu Kwakwanso of Kano state has blamed Nigeria?s President Goodluck Jonathan for the unrest which has arisen in the state following the emergence of Sanusi Lamido as the new Emir of Kano.

Kwakwanso also accused President Jonathan of plotting to have him killed as a fresh twist opens up to the feud between both men.

The Kano State governor further alleged that the president has withdrawn half of the security details attached to him in the past few days.

According to him, ?the people of Kano, my friends, Nigerians and of course, the international community are to hold Jonathan responsible for whatever happens to me, my family or even the people of Kano state.
?A sitting president brewing a crisis in a state like Kano? Everybody in this country knows that it is Jonathan that is creating this problem in Kano. I am yet to know why, but posterity will clearly show what his intentions are,? he said.

Mr. Kwankwaso noted that the inability of the new Emir of Kano to enter his palace is down to a police siege on the building which the presidency is aware of.

He stated further that the presidency had planned to arrest Mr. Sanusi to ensure that his appointment as emir would not materalise.

?We got information that they were planning to arrest him, so, we moved him to the Government House. I don?t want to imagine what would have happened if they succeeded,? he said.

Trouble burst out in Kano immediately after Sanusi was announced as the new emir of the state, as his supporters clashed with those of his opponent, the son of the former emir.
